Episode 1

It is a cold, crystal clear night in Los Vegas but thats not stopping the locals from having the time of their lives, wether it be partying at clubs, drinking at the bars, walking the streets, or gambling at the casinos. The night is indeed alive, but most citizens are unaware of certain other activities going on. There stood a man high a top a building wearing a specialized suit he had built himself. This man's name was Casey Adams. He was recently disbanded from a secret military group, and the reasons where unknown.

But, Casey was not on a mission, he was reflecting. Reflecting on his very haunting past. A very dark past.

Flashback

California Coast, 3 years ago

Casey Adams was with his secret military group, known only to them as The Martyrs. They were around a fire on the beach, jis t off a coast road.

"Adams?" Lieutenant Davis called, sitting across from him. "Adams? Earth to Adams?"

Casey snapped out of his thoughts. "Yes, Lieutenant?"

"You all right soldier?"

"Yeah, was just thinking."

The other men resumed their conversations.
The rest of the night and the for died down, and the men started heading back to base.

"You coming, Casey?" One of the soldiers asked.

"You go on ahead." He waved to the others.

"Suit yourself." The others proceeded into the secret hangar leaving Casey to himself.

He made sure the others were gone, and then pulled out a small electronic meter. He walked a few miles next to the cliff, guided by the meter. The beeps got more frequent, and he finally located the spot.

"Got it."

He took out a small pick axe and began chipping away at the rock. Eventually, a large portion of it collapsed, revealing a cave entrance. Casey shown a flashlight and started walking. He came to a large opening, and noticed a strange chunk in the wall. The meter went crazy when placed near it, and Casey could feel an electrical charge near the area. Casey then heard multiple guns cocking and lights being shown. He turned to see his entire group pointing automatic rifles at him.

"What the hell is going on?"

"Sorry it had to come to this Adams." The Lieutenant grinned sadistically.

"Yeah, you'll be sorry you son of a bitch."

"Easy now, son."

"Ill be easy once I get some answers."

"Well, might as well tell you since you're going to die anyways. You see, a while ago my team of scientists had discovered a strange energy emanating from this very cave. They didn't know what caused and even our best of instruments couldn't detect it, and that's where you come in. We heard of a prodigy, someone who could invent almost anything. That someone was you, Adams. We hired you because we knew you'd be a good temporary asset to the team. We knew you would find it, and now that you have, we'll be taking it for ourselves."

"So you've been using me? And you mean this?"

Casey held up in his right hand a glowing black square shaped stone. Unknowing to the Lieutenant, he felt his body being charged by some kind of energy. He was getting stronger.

"What does this have to do with it?"

"We couldn't figure out what it could do, but we did discover that it is a source of pure dark energy. I figured it would be a good start for taking over the world."

Caseys mind went blank. They were going to use this stone for world domination, and most likely kill millions of people along the way. He couldn't let this happen.

"Not if I can do anything about it."

"Sorry, Adams. Look around you. There's no way you're getting out of this. Alright men, open fire."

Bullets went everywhere, and the flashes from the shot distorted vision. When they ceased fire, the bullets were all layed infront of him, and not a single one had hit.

Casey's eyes were glowing a dark swirling red, and there was a dark red aura around him.

"Adams? What the hell?" The Lieutenants eyes were filled with fear as was his voice.

Casey broke the stone in his hand, and the same dark red energy coarsed throughout his entire body, causing him to scream. The soldiers open fire again, but it ended in the same result. The Lieutenant bolted out of the cave. Then, an explosion of dark energy erupted from Casey, incinerating all the soldiers in the process, and flinging the Liuetenant against a wall.

Casey approached him, grabbing him by his neck and began to lift.

"You think, I don't have more men?" He managed to choke out. "You be sorry you ever touched that stone. I'll make sure-"

Casey had enough of his lame threats. Using his will, he sent a beam of dark energy swirling around the Lieutenants head, who began to scream as he started incinerating, and fell into a pile of ash through Casey's hand.

Casey smirked, realizing how strong he had become. He punched the wall, and made a good sized hole. He then left the cave, vowing to kill the rest of the Martyrs.

End Flashback

That's how Casey became the Marauder. He didn't care what he had to do to get his job done. What he didn't know, was that there were other beings like him, formidable or not, and other sinister plots under way, far worse than what the Martyrs had planned.
