Marauder Episode 9
Opus and the Red Serpents continue their attack. With half the police force gone, the city of Vegas has to rely on the Marauder. Casey learns a terrifying truth.
Las Vegas, 10 pm
An army of futuristic soldiers marches orderly down the streets of Vegas. Their mission? To conquer the city and others like it, then eventually the world. They shoot Police Officers and take innocent civilians hostage and kill some.
In the Pyramid hotel which was cleared out due to the terrifying efforts of Steel Monger, Thaddeus, Crescent, Stinger, and Steel Monger stand in an office, with a view of the city. They could see the pandemonium spreading down below. Thaddeus grinned sadistically. Thaddeus turns.
"My men,"
They stand attentatively.
"Your time is come to make yourselves known. You are the very best in my section. Why dont you all make yourselves known to this lively city? Crescent and Stinger, take the North side, make your base at the nearest casino. Steel Monger, head south. I hear the Marauder is causing a bit of a scene down there."
The men left for their stations respectively. What Stinger and Crescent didnt know, the casino they were headed was rigged. It was one of the traps Casey had set for Opus.
At the presinct, a window cracked open and a man in a black cloak fell out, due to a dark energy blast set off by the Marauder. The man grounded his sycthe and recovered effortlesly. The Marauder soon followed, and Master Scythe returned the blast, but thanks to Caseys upgrade, minimal damaged was received.
At the Marauders base, Oz worked quickly to help detonate the traps Casey had set. He had eyes on Stinger and Crescent, who were oblivious to the trap.
"Lets make things interesting, shall we?" Oz said, then typed a few keys.
Stinger and Crescent made their way into the Casino. The place was a bit eerie and they soon figured it was abandoned.
"Now I see why he made us come-" Stinger was interrupted when he saw a strange spark on one of the old slot machines. He looked at Crescent, then out of curiosity went to check out the machine. Then, it seemed like it exploded in sparks, the force sending both men back, landing into what seemed to be a net, that then tightly secured itself.
"The henchmen are secured." Oz informed Casey.
"Good." He said, punching Scythe, who blocked it with his weapon. He sent another blast at Casey, but this time Casey was caught off guard and went flying back, crashing into a parked bus.
"Tough bastard." Casey shook it off. The rest of the fight was going to be tough but Vegas and the world depended upon its outcome.
On her television Kelsey watched the seemingly terrifying invasion. She had just learned that a man made of pure steel, called Steel Monger had looted a bank and the Opus soldiers began taking cash by the truckload. She couldnt stand by any longer.
Casey ran using all his strength, preparing to collide with Scythe. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see a man approaching.
"Adams!" The man said loudly, causing Casey to stop in his tracks. Only one person has called him by that in his life. Liuetenant Thaddeus Peterson.
"Thaddeus?" Casey said, shocked at who the man might be.
"Thats right its me." He said, a wave of Opus soldiers approaching behind him.
"This cant be possible. I incinerated you to dust! How the hell are you still alive you betraying bastard?"
"Dark Energy has some very interesting properties." Scythe said.
"I dont get it. I killed you and the remaining Martyrs. Explain yourself."
"Very well, Adams. Yes, you did kill me, and
if you waited, you wouldve seen something impossible take place. About a week after you left, another spike of Dark Energy hit. The same Energy that gave you your powers brought us back to life. We had no idea how as we saw the cube that you have shattered and dissolved. We then realized that there was another source of Dark Energy; it was in a black crystal sphere. We soon figured out that once these sources come into contact with a human, they dissolve. We located this sphere and transported it back to our lab."
"Lab? But I destroyed all of your resources. There was nothing of you all left."
"Dont you remember you fool? We knew you had discovered the first source of Dark Energy and we decided we needed to kill you." He said. "The applications of the second source would be limitless. We have it in a secret location now, and thats what we plan on using to reshape the world."
"You sadistic creep." Casey growled. "Im going to make sure that doesnt happen. Ill re destroy every last one of you and make sure no dark energy will bring you back to life!"
"But you havent even heard the best part yet." He laughed. "You see, a year ago in South America we discovered a small white pyramid that we found contained light energy. After we synthesize both energies, we will not only create a new world, but then a new universe!"
"Thaddeus! You're giving away too much!" Sycthe hissed.
"Relax, Scythe. We've got our army and the pathetic Casey Adams out numbered. Hes as good as dead. Im going to finish what I started years ago."
More Opus soldiers and Steel Monger now joined the crowd. Soon news helicopters began hovering around the area. "Long live Opus!" They all shouted.
"They have their own little chant. How cute, not."
"Casey, the time is now." Oz said on the other line. Casey nodded.
"Men, ready your weapons!" Thaddeus yelled. Tons of soldiers simultaneously raised their guns. Casey secretly readied to press a button on his gauntlet.
"Aim! Fire!" All soldiers squeezed ther triggers and at the same Casey pressed a button, causing an energy explosion sending the soldiers flying a good amount of feet backwards, including Steel Monger. They recovered fast and soon, and an all out war will shortly begin.
