The DarkShadow #5 WHY

     After the events with Salamander, DarkShadow finds himself at the warehouse power station. He sees guards patrolling the area. DarkShadow swiftly and quietly take down 5 guards without being noticed. He then enters the warehouse through a window.

     Inside the warehouse he looks around, dodging and maneuvering around the guards without being noticed. He finds weapons, of grenades, guns, rocket launchers, and more.

     Then the DarkShadow enters a room where he finds the lab. He walks up to the table and examines all of the equipment. He then finds a note pad of an equation of Sulfuric Acid and Nitroglycerin he ripped that piece and put it in his pocket. He then walked and stand towards a board showing a map of the New York sewer system, he examined the map to try to find out what it means, but then a double edge red crimson blade came through behind the map. The DarkShadow reacted quickly and moved back as the board was then cut in half and crumble to the floor revealing Blaze Samurai.

Blaze Samurai:

(Japanese) So... you are the DarkShadow that has been messing with our affairs. Huh, how foolish are you!

 

DarkShadow:

(Japanese) The only fool is you for facing me alone.

 

Blaze Samurai:

(Japanese) Oh. You speak my language. Clearly there is more to you than just what we know.

 

DarkShadow:

(Japanese) Where is he? Where is Ifrit?

 

Blaze Samurai:

(Japanese) So the fool Salamander did talk. He will pay dearly for his betrayal.

 

DarkShadow:

(Japanese) I could care less what you do with him. (English) Tell me... where is Ifrit?

 

Blaze Samurai:

(English) You should learn control, or you will lose balance within yourself.

 

DarkShadow:

The only thing that brings me balance is to kill, and since I can't kill Ifrit right now, you'll have to do.

 

     DarkShadow said to him, preparing to fight. Blaze Samurai smirked, lifted his sword with both his hands and got into stance. DarkShadow and Blaze Samurai stared at each other for a few minutes. Then DarkShadow spinned and reached out his chain towards Blaze Samurai, but he blocked the chain with his sword, which the chain wrapped around the blade. DarkShadow attempted to disarm him of his sword, but Blaze Samurai pulled back his sword which caused DarkShadow to be lifted up to the air and got pulled towards Blaze Samurai. Heading towards him, Blaze Samurai back kicked DarkShadow in the air to the head which pushed him back to the floor. DarkShadow recovered quickly and saw Blaze Samurai coming at him, as he striked with his sword, DarkShadow dodge and retracted his chain back and used the chain wrapped around his arm as a guard for Blaze Samurai's strikes from his sword. As the two fought DarkShadow continued to block his sword with his chained arm, while trying to land some strikes as well, but the Blaze Samurai dodges his attacks.

 

Blaze Samurai:

Such skills, I've faced such skills before. Against the soldiers of the group called D.E.M.O.N.

 

     The DarkShadow paused after hearing that name.

 

Blaze Samurai:

I remember hearing the rumors of D.E.M.O.N's Dark Warrior, a warrior of no mercy, created to kill, (Japanese) and given the blood of a Dark Demon itself. You are that creature.

 

DarkShadow:

I have no connection to that group any longer. And you have no idea what I truly am.

 

     DarkShadow then charge at Blaze Samurai, jump in the air ready to strike but he dodge and strike back with his Sword. DarkShadow landed and saw that his sword pierced through his armor on the right side, black blood started dripping from the wound, DarkShadow looked back and saw his blood on the Blaze Samurai's sword. Blaze Samurai turned and faced the DarkShadow with his sword in mid-air.

 

Blaze Samurai:

Perhaps not, but you know nothing of the power of the (Japanese) Crimson Blood Sword.

 

     The red crimson on the edge of the blade started to react to the DarkShadow's blood. As the blood was absorb by the blade, he then swung his sword in the air and a slash of red energy came and went towards the DarkShadow striking him down. The DarkShadow survived but was further wounded.

 

Blaze Samurai:

When this sword is coated with the blood of it's victims, it absorbs it and it's power increases, and your blood has given more power than any other before you, but not only that, it gives power to it's wielder.

 

     Blaze Samurai said, as he dashed quickly towards the DarkShadow pinning him to a wall by the neck. Blaze Samurai then tossed DarkShadow in the air, crashing to the floor. DarkShadow got up and strike at Blaze samurai with his right arm, but he chopped that off. DarkShadow fell to the floor covering his wound. As the Blaze Samurai was about to finish him off he was told to "Stop". Blaze Samurai and DarkShadow looked and saw Ifrit entering the room along with Red Bishop.

 

Ifrit:

Come now. Is that any way to treat a guess.

 

     DarkShadow looked at the man he has been hunting down, seeing his red skin and the scar line markings on him. He the tried to grab his chain from his severed arm, but that was set ablaze. DarkShadow looked to see where the fire came from and saw it came from Ifrit's hand. He then stood up and faced towards Ifrit.

 

DarkShadow:

So your him. The leader of the Hellfire Gang... just another NewBeing.

 

Ifrit:

Ha ha ha ha. A NewBeing, my no. I was the result of trying to make mankind better through science, but sadly things didn't go the way I wanted, however something came out of my setbacks... a new drive.

 

DarkShadow:

What the hell are you going on about. Your nothing more than a gang leader.

 

Ifrit:

That's what you see me as, yes. But I am doing so much more than that. I am going to make New York the new Hell.

 

DarkShadow:

What? What do you mean?

 

Ifrit:

Honestly it will be pointless in giving you the answers, considering your end is coming. The real question though is... why have you interfere with us.

 

DarkShadow:

I've been hunting you down, just so I can kill you.

 

Ifrit:

Just so you can kill me... Why?

 

DarkShadow:

The demon within me must be quench through killing and you and your gang are the perfect meal.

 

Ifrit:

I see, and that's the only reason why you come to kill me. To be honest I was hoping for a more meaningful reason. But if that's all it is, here I am... come!

 

     Ifrit said to DarkShadow taunting him. DarkShadow charge at Ifrit, despite his hounds and striked with his remaining arm, but Ifrit dodge and attacked relentlessly back, burning the DarkShadow's armor, coat and mask. Despite all the injuries he was receiving the DarkShadow continued to fight, but was defeated.

 

Ifrit:

I though from someone who has given us so much trouble, you put up more of an effort. Oh well, I guess your drive just isn't enough.

 

     The DarkShadow rose from the floor and faced Ifrit.

 

DarkShadow:

This is... not... over. I swear... your flames will be consumed by my... darkness.

 

Ifrit:

No... you will be consumed by my flames.

 

     Ifrit stretched out his hand and unleashed fire from them, which set ablaze DarkShadow. DarkShadow barely handling the flames then ran and crashed through a window and disappeared by turning into the dark smoke. Blaze Samurai and Red Bishop looked through the broken window to spot the DarkShadow, but nothing and looked back at Ifrit who looked backed at them. He then look at the severed arm he set on fire and smiled.

 

     Later on back at the abandoned Theatre, DarkShadow was walking on the stage, badly wounded his armor damage, his coat and masked burned showing one of his eyes. The DarkShadow could no longer hang on and fell to the floor landing on his back and his eye closed.

 

 Ifrit's voice:

Just so you can kill me/I was hoping for a more meaningful reason/Why.

 

3 weeks ago

     Six Hellfire Gang members dragged a boy and his little sister in the abandoned theatre and made them sit on  the chairs. After a few short hours one of them was speaking on the phone.

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Yes of course... you'll get the kids back once you pay. Will give you a time an place in a hour... Oh and no cops, otherwise I can't guarantee a happy reunion.

 

     The Hellfire member then hang up and looked towards the others.

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Once I have the money, waste the kids.

 

     The girl cried learning of what will happen to her and her brother. The brother hold his sister in his arms to comfort her. The Hellfire member then walked up to them.

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Hey don't be too sad, I'll tell you what. If your a good girl then maybe we'll let you go, but will still kill your brother... but hey at least you'll live, but then again... maybe.

 

     He said to the taunting her, making her more afraid, while he and the others laugh.

 

Hellfire Member #2:

Hey... does someone live here?

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Of course not, don't be an idiot. This place was abandoned years ago, no one come here anymore.

 

Hellfire Member #2:

Then what' this bed and TV doing up here.

 

     He said, pointing out the bed and TV on the stage and the others just noticing that.

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Check around make sure no one's here, and if there is... put a bullet between there eyes.

 

     He ordered the others, as they then moved around through the theatre to find someone. The Hellfire Member examined and notice a piece of paper on the bed. he picked it up and it was blank on one side, he then was turning it around which was about to show a picture, but then his neck was grabbed by a chained and he was hoisted up to the ceiling. The others heard him screaming as he was being lifted up, so they pointed their guns at the direction he was being taken and started firing. After a while they stopped, they looked up but saw nothing, just then the body of the Hellfire member that was taken fell on chairs, dead. Soon a voice started speaking.

 

Dark Shadow's Voice:

Get out... this is my theatre and I want to be alone.

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Do you have any idea who we are... were the Hellfire Gang!

 

DarkShadow's Voice:

I don't care in the slightest. This is your last warning... Get Out!

 

     The Hellfire members continued to ignore his warning and still pointed their guns at the ceiling. Soon the DarkShadow landed behind a Hellfire member, and once he turned around the DarkShadow grabbed his hand holding the gun, twisted and pointed the gun at his chest and made him shoot himself. The others saw and started firing at the DarkShadow but he used the Hellfire member he just killed as a shield and walked towards another. He then tossed the dead Hellfire member towards the other colliding with him, as he moved the body out of the way, the DarkShadow stood in front of him, disarmed him. broke his right arm, then left leg and then snapped his neck. DarkShadow then ran and jumped in front of two others, disarm them and started beating them both at the same time. They tried to fight back but were overpower by the DarkShadow, their leader tried to shoot him, but as he fired a shot the DarkShadow noticed and use one of the ones he was fighting as a shield, taking the bullet killing him. The boy used the moment as the leader was distracted and tackled him, trying to disarm him of his gun. As the DarkShadow finished the other Hellfire member, he looked and saw the boy fighting the leader, but he was overpowered and pushed back to the ground. The Hellfire member then pointed his gun at him.

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Shouldn't have tried to play hero kid.

 

     Just as he fired a bullet, the boy's sister stepped in front of him and took the shot. She collapse, but her brother caught her before she hit the floor. He hold his sister in his arms and saw blood coming from her chest, he was panicking in fear.

 

Hellfire Member #1:

Pity, she looked like such a sweet kid, too bad about her broth, ack.

 

     Just as he was talking, the DarkShadow got behind him and punch him in the back that went through his chest. The DarkShadow's arm went straight through the Hellfire member that he was holding his heart at the other end.

 

DarkShadow:

Can you feel the pain. It must hurt, but don't worry. I'll make it quick.

 

     He then crushed the hellfire member's heart with his fist and pulled out his arm from his chest. The DarkShadow then looked towards the brother and sister.

 

Brother:

Katy... Katy wake up... it's over. Let's go home. Please, wake up.

 

     But she did not reply, she was gone. The Brother hold her tight in his arms.

 

Brother:

It's all my fault. She always called me her hero, but I'm not a hero. I let my sister died.

 

     The boy was saying, tears running through his eyes. The DarkShadow watch him as he hold his sister close.

 

DarkShadow:

 Take your sister and leave.

 

     He said to the boy as he walked away. The boy then laid his sister down, stood up and looked towards the DarkShadow with anger.

 

Brother:

This is just as much as your fault, if you had moved faster, my sister would be alive.

 

     The DarkShadow quickly moved back and faced the boy and grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up in the air.

 

DarkShadow:

I was not saving anyone. I acted on my own accord. Now I'm giving you the same warning. Take your sister, leave and give her a proper burial. If you don't, you die.

 

     He said to the boy as he let him go.

 

Brother:

You might as well just kill me anyway, I deserve to die.

 

     DarkShadow punched the power after hearing his words for death.

 

DarkShadow:

If you desire death, then you dishonor the sacrifice your sister has made for you to live. So... if you will not live for yourself then live for her. Now take her and never return to this place and do not speak of me... Ever!

 

Brother:

It won't be the last, as long as the Hellfire Gang exist, they'll continue terrorizing New York, so my sister sacrifice won't be truly meaningful, cause it won't put a stop to it.

 

     He said, he then pick up his sister and walked away with her. The DarkShadow watch as they left, the boy stopped, turned and faced the DarkShadow one more time. 

 

Brother:

Do you have family?

 

     The DarkShadow was silent, then turned around facing away from him.

 

DarkShadow:

No.

 

     The boy then left with his sister. DarkShadow looked at the leader of the Hellfire group and saw the H covered in fire tattoo on his right arm. He then went up on the stage to his bed and picked up the picture and looked at it in silent.

 

Brother's Voice:

This is all my fault/Hellfire Gang exist/sister sacrifice/She called me her hero

 

Girls Voice:

You'll always be my Hero.

 

Back at the present

     DarkShadow woke up, breathing fast and heavily. He got up went to the bed and looked at the picture which is of another boy carrying  a little girl on his back, both smiling. There was a reflection of the picture on his eye, he then placed it back on the bed, turned and faced the auditorium. His eye closed.

 

DarkShadow:

I am the DarkShadow, I do not need a reason why. I kill because I must kill, because the demon within, must be satisfied, so I will extinguish the Hellfire Gang and I will kill IFRIT!

 

     His eye opened and glowed dark. Then Dark Energy started flowing and covering all around his body. His arm that was severed, was restored, his armor, his clothes, his coat and masked were also restore to how they were. The DarkShadow then grabbed a new chain and wrapped it around his right arm and headed out.

 

     The DarkShadow then was standing on one of the gargoyles of the Chrysler Building, looking down at New York, ready to continue his mission.
