The DarkShadow Vol. 2 #3: They're Demands

     It's been 1 weeks now, after the bombings across New York and the speech from the Underground King, leader of a group of Underground Citizens who proclaim themselves the ones responsible for the bombings. They have also announce of another assault on New York. Patrols of police officers are spread everywhere, looking for any unusual activity. Also a squad lead by Lieutenant Lydia are searching the ungrounds of New York trying to find the Underground Citizens, while Michael is meeting with the Mayor.

Mayor:

Well. Any word from Lieutenant Lydia on finding the whereabouts of these Underground Citizens?

 

Michael:

No sir, so signs of anyone and unfortunately given how vase and wide those tunnels and spaces are underneath the city, finding anyone will be difficult. 

 

     The Mayor then placed his hand on his head and looked stressful.

 

Mayor:

Uuuuh. After that speech, the citizens are in a panic of another bombing attack or worse. Do we have anything on what they use for the bombs.

 

Michael:



Yes, it was C4, we manage to find some of the shrapnel remains of the container and upon examination we discovered that it's the same that the remnant Hellfire members had.

 

Mayor:

Wait then why wasn't it seize after that ordeal with the remnants.

 

Michael:

It was sir. After we arrived at the scene, and took care of what needed to be done after DarkShadow's involvement. We seize all the weapons, ammunition and explosives into the carriers. And after the bombings and the Underground King's speech, I was inform that one of the containers was stolen and the men transporting it were found killed.

 

Mayor:

Wait, are you saying that, not only is the Underground Citizens are in hold of explosives, but also other ammunitions as well.

 

Michael:

I'm afraid so sir.

 

     The Mayor looked down with both hands on his head and looking more worried. He then looked up towards Michael.

 

Mayor:

We need to resolves this soon, without anymore disasters. we have an important guess coming to us in just a few weeks. He can help us rebuild our city, so I don't want him to feel endanger when he arrives. You and Lieutenant Lydia, need o work on stopping the Underground King and his citizens. Understood Lieutenant Michael!

 

Michael:

Yes Sir!

 

     Michael said as he saluted the Mayor then left the room and the Mayor turned his chair and looked into a window to see the sunset.

     As night falls, the DarkShadow is walking through the streets of New York, with his coat zip up and his hood covering his mask so no one will notice him. He walks through and see the damages of one of the bombings and workers, working to clean it up, then moves on. As he continues walking, he stops at a small Drug Store and looks through the window and sees three men in black ski mask with hand guns, attempting to rob the place.

 

Robber #1:

Give us the money!

 

    One of the robbers said to the clerk who was behind the counter, while the other two ransacked the place. The clerk was scared, he looked down at his counter, knowing that there is a panic button there. As he fist went towards the register and open it, he slowly moved his hand to the button, but the robber noticed this and shot him in the arm. As the clerk fell to the floor and leaned on a wall after getting shot. As the robber went over and saw the clerk sitting there holding his wound, he pointed his gun at the clerk preparing to shoot him. Just As the robber was pulling the trigger his hand holding the gun was grabbed by another's hand, that diverted his hand to the ceiling and fired. The robber looked to see whose hand it was and his eyes widened at he saw the DarkShadow.

     The DarkShadow gripped his hand tighter on the robbers hand, making him release the gun and then elbow hit him at the right side of his ribs and pushes back to the door freezer's, then DarkShadow grabbed the gun that was falling and throws it to one of the other robbers who was going to shoot him, and the gun hits the robber in the face. As the second robber was distracted after getting hit in the face with the gun, DarkShadow swiftly went towards him and kicked his left leg, breaking it, then broke both his arms and lifted him up, hitting the ceiling.

 

Robber #2:

Die, motherf**ker!

 

     He said, as he was about to shoot DarkShadow, but was disarmed with his gun by the DarkShadow's chain. Then wrapped his chain around the robber and first crashed him to the floor, then swung him to the window crashing through to the streets. DarkShadow then wrapped his chain around his right arm, then went to the first robber and grabbed his wallet and took his money, then grabbed a bottle of sprite. Then he went to the counter and placed the money on the table. The clerk watched as DarkShadow turned into Dark Smoke as police cars were coming and disappeared. 

 

     Later on a rooftop, DarkShadow is sitting with his mask a bit up revealing his mouth and drank the sprite. He then stares down to the streets. Then his right red mesh eye started to glow dark and dark energy started to flow around his right arm as well, causing pain, making him let go of the bottle falling to the streets. As he hold his arm, while going through the pain, it then stops. He then put his mask down to cover his mouth and stood up, at that moment, he heard a buzzing noise in his pocket. DarkShadow reached inside his pocket and took out a phone and saw that he had a message.

 

     On the rooftop of a police station, Michael is waiting. He looked around the area looking for something, then looked at his watch on his wrist.

 

Voice:

What do you want Michael?

 

     Michael turned to the voice and saw DarkShadow standing in front of him.

 

Michael:

I actually thought that you wouldn't show up, glad you did.

 

     He said to DarkShadow, as he walked towards Michael then stop in front of him.

 

DarkShadow:

Your right, I shouldn't have come and I'm about to leave if you don't tell me what you want!?

 

Michael:

No doubt you've seen the destruction of the bombing throughout the city, as well as the broadcast message from this Underground King?

 

DarkShadow:

Yes.

 

Michael:

The you must realize, that he is a danger and he's not alone, these Underground Citizens have threaten this city and it's people. Were still trying to reorganize ourselves after Ifrit and his Hellfire Gang's attack. The Mayor is working to help the city, and me as well as other in the police force are working hard to keep order. But this group, they've manage to acquire dangerous weapons and we have no idea what they're plans are or even where they are to stop them. The city could be endanger as well as the people!

 

     The DarkShadow just starred at Michael after he was done talking.

 

DarkShadow:

So... what do you want from me?

 

Michael:

I'm hoping you will help us combat this new threat.

 

     DarkShadow was silent towards Michael after his request and crossed his arms and looked down for a moment, then looked up towards Michael.

 

DarkShadow:

.... No!

 

     Michael was shocked to hear DarkShadow's response.

 

Michael:

But why, you help us in stopping to bring down Ifrit and the Hellfire Gang and saved the city!

 

DarkShadow:

I did not help you at all, I attack the Hellfire Gang to seek out Ifrit, so I can kill him, for my own purposes.

 

Michael:

So, you won't help save the city, from more devastation!

 

     DarkShadow starts walking and walks pass Michael, who turns and sees DarkShadow walking away towards the edge of the roof. DarkShadow then stops right at the edge and turns around to face Michael.

 

DarkShadow:

What happens to this city, what happens to it's people. Is of no concern of mine. I fight for my own reasons and that is to kill those I seek to kill for my satisfaction. Understand, what your city faces is not my concern and if it faces destruction then that is it's fate.

 

    DarkShadow said to Michael, as he then leans back and falls of the roof. Michael rushes over to the edge but sees nothing, the DarkShadow disappeared.

 

    The next day, police patrol cars are all around the city, continue to looking for anything suspicious due to the Underground King's threat.

 

     Meanwhile at a successful Bank, people are coming in and depositing money and speaking with the workers. A women wearing a long trench coat, is walking up to a employee women, as she was right next to her the employee women was shock.

 

Employee Women:

Oh my God! Tammy is that you, where have you been?

 

Women:

After you and this bank took everything I had, I was force to the streets, but I was saved. By the Underground Citizens.

 

     The women then opened her trench coat and took out two hand-held machine guns and started firing at the ceiling. Everyone started to panic after hearing the gun fire and try to escape to the from entrance, but it was block by two men with guns as well. Security guards who attempted to grab there guns to stop the armed assailants, but were stopped by others who were blending in with the people. Soon the bank workers, security guards and people were held hostage by 9 armed assailants. As they were all gather at the center and sat on the floor, as some of the assailants binded the security guards hands behind there back, others were setting up a TV camera.

 

     During at the time, inside a house living room two kids are watching a kids cartoon. Then the screen on there TV started to static and then the women assailant was on the screen and she was not just on there screen, all through New York she was on ever TV screen of homes, bars, the Police Station and the Mayor's office, including the TV screen of the DarkShadow.

 

Tammy:

Greetings, my name is Tammy. I was once just an ordinary citizens who loved living in this city. I had a good job, but dreamed of opening my own store one day. I signed up to this bank to help me achieve my dream. A friend who I trusted works here and said she would help me. But then this bank stole everything I had and my so called friend betrayed me! They drove me to the streets where I just wanted to die. But the Underground Citizens saved me gave me a home and also gave me a chance to make my store there and I was happy, but then you upper citizens destroyed that, it was bad enough when you took everything "We" all had the first time, now you want to take what we have again. No more, we won't let you. We have taken 30 hostages, that's 5 security guards, 9 bank employee's and 16 citizens of New York. Our King informed you that our next assault we will give out our demands and here they our. The Mayor will relinquish the city to us the Underground Citizens and all who live in the upper part of the city will leave and never return. Those our only demands that we want, we wish to reclaim New York and live in it as it's "True" Citizens! You have 1 hour to reply. If you don't meet our demands, we take a life. Every one hour a life will be taken.

 

     Then the screen goes black. As the hostages in the bank start to panic fearing for their lives. While police cars start surrounding the bank, with Lieutenant Michael and Lieutenant Lydia arriving at the scene.

      While the Mayor discuss they're plans on what to do with others.

 

     As the 1 hour has started, the DarkShadow with his jacket off, is standing on the stage in the theater, starring at the blank screen, but then turns and lays on his bed, on his back with his hands behind his head and stares at the ceiling.
