The DarkShadow Vol. 2 #6: The Knight!

     Back at the abandoned theatre, the DarkShadow is sitting on his bed starring  into the paper he grabbed from one of the Underground Citizen he killed in the sewer. The paper which had "Attack on welcoming CEO of Knight International" written on it. He then looked towards his television, which was showing Matt broadcasting the News.

Matt:

Three more people killed by the Underground Citizens, each one branded by words that indicate why they were targeted by the Underground Citizens. The police are asking for people to be careful on the streets, do not go out alone, and if you believe you might have any connection to the Underground Citizens, go to the nearest police department. In other news, Léonce Knight CEO of KNIGHT International is coming to New York to help in the reconstruction of the city after the Hellfire's Gangs attack. He'll be arriving tomorrow at city hall, to speak to the mayor.

 

Stacy:

His help will be grateful for this city. Léonce is set to arrive tomorrow at City Hall and meet with Mayor.

 

Matt:

Indeed it will be. Léonce Knight has been a great activist for communities, using his company to help those in need and working towards the advancements of technology and medicine. I only hope that nothing will go wrong and our city can now truly rebuild.

 

     DarkShadow then turned off the television and looked back at the paper.

 

DarkShadow:

Knight!

 

     Meanwhile at an area in the undergrounds of New York, men and women Underground Citizens are preparing weapons. While GroundShatter is also gearing up, with armor and placed two small sledgehammers in straps on his waist and then wield a large sledgehammer and started swinging it around with ease, then smashed it on the ground causing a the entire area to shake. He then lifted the hammer up and place it on his back and smiled.

 

Voice:

Careful. I know we are planning to take back New York, but for the time being this place is still our home and we don't want it crashing down on us.

 

     GroundShatter turn and saw the Underground King. GroundShatter then got on one knee and bowed to him.

 

GroundShatter:

My King! Forgive my little shake I made, I'm just eager to continue our goal.

 

Underground King:

As are we all! The CEO of Knight Industries, plans on helping New York is an outrage. He is not one of us, New York was built by New Yorkers and it will be New Yorkers to rebuild it.

 

GroundShatter:

And as New York's true Citizens we are the to rebuild it, after we purge it from those who have brought this city nothing but deceit and devastation.

 

Underground King:

Yes! But we must be careful in this operation. The pitiful Mayor and his police will be on high alert for his arrival and Mr. Knight will also be cautious in his visit, might have that bodyguard at his side. Not too mention the DarkShadow could also be aware of our plans.

 

     GroundShatter laughed uncontrollably on what the Underground King said, then stopped then breathed in and out.

 

GroundShatter:

The Mayor and his police are weak, Knight is nothing more then a billionaire fool and the DarkShadow if he did survive our first encounter, I'll just bury him again... this time, permanently! 

 

Underground King:

Just be weary, you are a soldier, a brother that we cannot lose.

 

GroundShatter:

Fear not my King, soon... New York will be ours again.

 

     He said, place his hand on the Underground King's should and moved him and showed the rest of the Underground Citizens, preparing to fight, the Underground King then smiled and looked back at GroundShatter.

 

     The Next day, New York Citizens have gathered around City Hall for the arrival of Lancelot Knight. during which police officers are all over the area, patrolling the area, snipers place on the nearby buildings roofs and windows. While the Mayor is sitting at the front of City Hall, alongside Lieutenant Lydia. As the crowd cheers of an oncoming limo that stops right in front of City Hall. The driver steps out and walks towards the passenger door and opens it. Then comes out a man and the crowd cheers louder and he responds by waving at them. The man then walks up the stairs of City Hall and meets with the Mayor and shakes his hand, then sits down next to Lieutenant Lydia, while the Mayor walks towards and addresses to the citizens. As soon as the crowd calmed down the Mayor began to speak

 

Mayor:

Thank you... thank you all for coming, we are honor to have a great visitor to come to our city today. He is the CEO of one of the most growing companies in the world, he works to help those in need across the world and now he is here to help rebuild out city. I am proud to introduce Mr. Léonce Knight!

 

     The mayor said, as he turn stretching his hand towards Léonce Knight, which he then stood up from his chair and walked towards the mayor and shake his hand. The Mayor then went back to his seat and Léonce then stood in front of the citizens of New York.

 

Léonce

Thank you mayor, but please everyone, call me Leo. I am please to inform you that Knight International will help in restoring this city from the damages that were brought upon it. I am aware that there are those who are threatening this city, causing further damages. I will also be helping the police in subduing these people and then together... all of us, will rebuild New York City to what it is... "The Place Where Dreams Are Made Of"!

 

     The crowd cheered from Léonce's words but as they cheered and clap for him, people who were hooded figures started walking from within the crowd towards City Hall. While one of the police snipers on the roof is killed. Back with the crowd one of the police officer's patrolling the crowd notices one of the people in hoods and approach him, as he attempted to grab him, the hooded man reached out his arm towards the officer and he was pushed back collapsing onto people. The man then took off his hood and revealed himself to be GroundShatter.

 

GroundShatter:

For the Underground Citizens!! For The UNDERFROUND KING!!

    

     Soon other Underground Citizens across the crowd removed there hoods, wielding machine guns and started shooting. Officer on the ground worked to evacuate the people who were scattering, others were shielding the mayor and Léonce with Lieutenant Lydia with them, while also trying to subdue the Underground Citizens. Police snipers on the roof try to take out the Underground Citizens but were killed by a sniper from the roof where the first police sniper was killed. On the ground a shoot out began between the police and the Underground Citizens. As the shoot out continued many officers and Underground Citizens were killed, as well as New Yorkers who were in the cross fire. Meanwhile Lydia and her men guarded the mayor and Léonce, she killed to Underground Citizens coming at them. Lydia lead them to then limo and opened the door.

 

Lydia:

GET IN, HURRY! 

    

     She said to the mayor and Léonce, which the mayor did with Léonce following, but as he was attempting to enter the Underground Citizen from the roof grabbed a missile launcher and pointed it at the limo and fired. As the missile head straight at the limo, Léonce and Lydia looked and saw it coming at them, but while it was in mid air, dark smoke came towards it and formed into the DarkShadow, who use his chain, grabbed the missile and swung it back at the Underground Citizens killing him as it exploded on the roof. The DarkShadow then landed on the ground, Léonce looked and saw the DarkShadow rising up, stand and wrapped his chain around his right arm .

 

Lydia:

Mr. Knight please get in!

 

     She said to Léonce telling him to get in the limo which he did and the limo soon drive off. GroundShatter saw the limo attempting to escape grabbed his large sledge hammer and attempt to smash it on the ground and was stopped by the DarkShadow colliding his hammer with the Crimson Blood Sword.

 

GroundShatter:

This time when I bury you. It will be permanent!

 

DarkShadow:

The only one gonna be in the ground... is you!

 

     GroundShatter then swung his hammer again at DarkShadow, but he dodge his strike. The two engaged there weapons at each other, as they continued to fight. During which Lydia and police officers continued to engage in a shoot out with the Underground Citizens, while also still protecting the citizens trying to escape. GroundShatter notices this and disengage in his fight with DarkShadow and slams his hammer to the ground causing it to crack and shake towards them.  DarkShadow then came up towards GroundShatter in the air, which he turns and raises his hand to DarkShadow and vibrational waves at him which send him back. DarkShadow crashes onto the ground, feeling disoriented. GroundShatter then hear the sound of police sirens, realizing reinforcement are coming and that Léonce Knight has escape.

 

GroundShatter:

All Underground Citizens! Fall Back!

 

     He said as he then stomp his hammer straight into the ground and created a large smoke screen around himself. Lydia and her police search and sees that GroundShatter and the remaining Underground Citizens have escape, as well as the DarkShadow.

 

Lydia:

Quickly we need to help anyone who is wounded and secure this area!

 

     Lydia and the police soon started helping those who were injured as ambulances arrived.

 

     Night soon fell and DarkShadow was standing on a roof watching the News on a building screen.

 

Stacey:

This was the scene where, many have gathered to welcome Léonce Knight. It soon became a warzone with the Underground Citizens. Many officers and people have been killed and other injured. During the battle eye witnesses say the saw the DarkShadow fighting against one of the Underground Citizens, who seems to have abilities. Does the Underground Citizens have NewBeings among them as well and will Knight will still help our city after today's event?

 

     Later that night at a KNIGHT International building, GroundShatter is standing next to it at the entrance.

 

GroundShatter:

Mr. Knight! Prepare to be buried by your own brick!... For the "TRUE" Citizens of New York!

 

     GroundShatter then raised his hammer ready to slam it on the ground to destroy the building, but could not move his hammer. GroundShatter turned his head and saw the DarkShadow behind him, holding the hammer with his right arm.

 

GroundShatter:

Huh... Don't you ever give up.

 

DarkShadow:

... No!

     GroundShatter then back kick the DarkShadow pushing him back and then attacks him with his hammer. DarkShadow dodge and blocks his strikes, then takes out his sword and fights back. As the two continue to fight, GroundShatter slams his hammer on the ground and cause a piece of the ground to break off and rise up, which he then blast it with a vibrational wave from his left hand  and send it straight at DarkShadow, but he sliced it off with his sword. GroundShatter continue to do the same move again sending chunks of the ground at DarkShadow which he counters by slicing them into pieces while moving towards GroundShatter. Then  DarkShadow jump in the air flipping over another piece. While in the air he reach out his chain and punctured the piece of the ground and then slammed it on GroundShatter, which he use his hammer to hit it, shattering it to pieces. DarkShadow then came at him and the two clashed there weapons. Then Red Energy formed around the Crimson Blood Sword and DarkShadow sliced GroundShatter's hammer in two, then wrapped him by the waist with his chain, raised him up into the sky and slammed GroundShatter to the Ground. DarkShadow wrapped his chain around his right arm, he then notices GroundShatter getting up and grabbed the two smaller sledge hammers around his waist. and starred at DarkShadow.

 

GroundShatter:

I am gonna Shatter every bone in your body!

 

DarkShadow:

You can Try!

    

     The two then charge at each other preparing to strike, but then something came crashing to the ground and both stopped. They both looked and saw a figure standing in the middle of the dust. As the dust disappeared DarkShadow and GroundShatter saw a man in a Silver Cybernetic Knight armor with a glowing heater shape emblem at the chest.

 

GroundShatter:

Who the F*ck are you!

 

The armored Knight was silent and first looked towards GroundShatter, then looked towards DarkShadow who looked back at him.

 

DarkShadow:

Silver Knight!

 

     DarkShadow said knowing his name. The Silver Knight then raised both his hands towards DarkShadow and GroundShatter, and energy started to form around the palms.

 

Silver Knight:

Alright... Let's talk this out.

 

      The Silver Knight said in a robotic voice, they all then just stood there waiting for the next move to be made.
