The DarkShadow Vol. 2 #9: Catskill/Delaware Part 1

     In the morning of New York, on a television screen Matt and Stacey are broadcasting the News.

Matt:

Good Morning New York I'm Matt Howard.

 

Stacey:

And I'm Stacey Morgan, Good morning.

 

Matt:

Last night, multiple weapons and ammunitions shops were attacked by the Underground Citizens, many fortunately none of the owners were present at the time, so were not injured, unfortunately police officers who were there to stop them were injured.

 

Stacey:

Yes, total of 7 officers were injured during the attack, but thankfully the Silver Knight came and help stop the Underground Citizens and save those officers lives.

 

Matt:

And thanks to his help multiple Underground Citizens were arrested. We have not been given anything if the Underground Citizens manage to acquire any of the weapons they were attempting to take. But with the Silver Knight protecting us and Léonce Knight working towards helping our city, New York is in good hands.

 

Stacey:

Léonce Knight also sent a video message to us, after the events.

Léonce Knight: I am happy to hear that no lives were lost and families of those brace Officers won't be getting any sad news. Like I did... I lost my family, My parents, My Wife... My New Born Son "Arthur". We were going to have a family vacation in Europe. I had to attend a business meeting, so I had to stay behind, I told my wife that I would be right there to see her, before her eyes as she wakes up. But then... as I was preparing to be with them. I was told that my family was killed. The one responsible still hasn't been identified or apprehended. I was given much on how it all happened, soon I was burying my family, including My little boy. After that I decided to create the Silver Knight, to protect, to save and fight for justice and defend the people. And that is what he and I will do, we will defend the people of New York and work to restore this City.

 

      The Video then stopped and went back to Matt and Stacey.

 

Matt:

Powerful words.

 

Stacey:

Yes, I just want to say to Léonce Knight, from me and all of us in New York thank you and the Silver Knight, for becoming out Knight.

 

     Later on at the Underground Base, the Underground King is meeting with his subordinates.

 

Underground Citizen #1:

Out of our 10 units that attacked the weapons shops, only 4 manage to return. The amount of guns and ammunition they brought isn't enough.

 

Underground King:

Will it be enough for the mission?

 

Underground Citizens #1:

Yes!

 

Underground King:

What about the explosives?

 

Underground Citizens #2:

They are ready Sire!

 

Underground Citizen #1:

But my King, were are losing more of our people each day, the rest are being to question if continuing to wage war is the best solution.

 

Underground King:

It is the only solution for our people. Also why wasn't Unit 6 not present during the mission.

 

     The Underground Kings subordinates were silent and looked each other. The Underground notices these as he starred at him men.

 

Underground King:

What is it?

 

Underground Citizen #1:

We sent 3 men to check on Unit 6, when they came back, they said that it looked like they were attacked, they found remains.

 

Underground King:

Remains?

 

Underground Citizen #1:

Yes!... They said, that it looked like they were attacked by a wild animal.

 

Underground King:

Alligators? I thought we took the precautions in moving those animals.

 

Underground Citizen #1:

No Sire, this was something else, there were claw marks not were not of an alligator, something else attacked them like a monster or~

 

Underground King:

Demon!

 

     They all became silent from the Underground King's words.

 

Voice:

Whether a demon, monster, knight, or police we. The King is right, we must fight to reclaim what is ours and those above must pay for the lives they have taken. We must continue our fight to liberate New York.

 

     The other looked at each other and nodded with confidence.

 

Underground Citizens:

Inspiring words... Underground Prince!

 

Underground King:

Leave us!

 

     He said, as the Underground Citizens left there King and Prince alone. The Underground King walked towards the Underground Prince and hugged him and the Underground Prince hugged backed. They then let go of each other and the Underground King walk back to the table with a map of the Catskill/Delaware facilities.

 

Underground King:

How goes your surveillances?

 

Underground Prince:

It goes well, I have also manage to acquire the blueprints for our final plans.

 

Underground King:

Good! You have done well... My son! What about the other part?

 

Underground Prince:

Unfortunately I have been unable to find the DarkShadow's hide out no matter how far I have search?

 

Underground King:

I see.

 

Underground Prince:

I fail to see why finding his place is so important. What use does knowing it gives us. The DarkShadow may be a nuisance to us, but should be of no real concern.

 

Underground King:

Be wary my son. The DarkShadow should never be taken lightly. He did defeat GroundShatter remember. And from what I've been told he has done so much more. Plus I have made agreements from others in finding his location in return for great assistance in both dealing with him and reclaiming this City.

Underground Prince:

Understood father, I will go continue the search.

Underground King:

No! I will send others for that task. I have a more important mission for you, one that you will help lead.

Underground Prince:

The Catskill/Delaware mission.

Underground King:

Yes... this mission is the upmost importance. You are one of my greatest warriors so I want you to lead this mission. And the mission must be a success.

Underground Prince:

I will accept this mission.

Underground King:

Good! You have made me proud my son.. your mother would be proud of you as well.

Underground Prince:

I will not fail you father. This mission will be accomplish for you and for mother!

     The Underground Prince said, as he kneeled to his father accepting the mission the Underground King has given him.

 

     Meanwhile at a police station Michael and Lydia are discussing on what transpired at the library with police officers and the DarkShadow.

 

Lydia:

I don't get it. Why did he come to the library, what was the purpose?

 

Michael:

According to the reports, The DarkShadow was in the computer area when the officers confronted him.  He didn't attack just vanished, according to the officers statement "He turned into this smoke and disappeared"!

Lydia:

So I guess he has more up his sleeve then his combat abilities!

Michael:

He is known as the Dark Demon, and I don't think its not his cruelty in beating people, that gives him that title. However the most interesting that he was on a computer and was on a site on the Catskill/Delaware system.

 

Lydia:

The Water systems... why?

 

Michael:

I don't know. Maybe it's some kind of hint he's giving us.

 

Lydia:

Maybe, I'll send some patrols to check the places, make sure they are safe.

 

Michael:

Good idea. I'll inform the Mayor, he'll want to know about this.

 

     Michael said, as he went to the phone and Lydia started to leave the room.

 

Michael:

Lydia!

 

     Lydia then stopped and turned towards Michael.

 

Michael:

You know, if anything is going down at the Water systems and if any severe damage happens this city will be left without water for months.

 

     Lydia nodded in agreement of what Michael said and she left the room.

 

     The next morning at the abandon theatre, the DarkShadow is laying on the bed resting. He then wakes and stands up and looks at his right arm and sees a image of his arm turning into the armored demon arm and flinches from memories of him transforming that time. He then looks at his arm again and sees it normal. The DarkShadow then kneels on the floor and begins polishing The Crimson Blood Sword.

 

     Meanwhile at the Delaware water facility, workers are performers inspections and maintenance and keeping it under control, while police units arrive and meet with some of the workers.

 

Worker #1:

Hello officers, how can I help you.

 

Officer #1:

Good morning. We have reason to believe that this facility is in danger.

 

Worker #1:

What! How exactly?

 

Officer #1:

We are not too sure on that, that's we would like to inspect the facility make sure everything ok.

 

Worker #1:

Yes of course.

 

     The workers said granted permission for the officers to inspect the Delaware facility. As 4 officer entered they split up and began there inspection and for the most part everything seemed to be clear. As they continued they're inspection, unbeknownst to them, Underground Citizens started popping up, entering windows, zip lining down from the ceiling and revealing themselves as workers and then stealth kill two of the officers, as they were killing them one of them manage to take out his gun and let out a shot signaling the others two. A the other two heard the gun shot, they ready themselves and one of the grabbed his radio to call it in.

 

Officer #3:

This Officer #4428, we have shots fired at the Delaware water facility, possible officers down. Requesting back-

 

     Before he could finish he was stabbed from the back with a sword, by the Underground Prince who also killed the other officer by shooting him. As the Underground Prince took the sword out of the officer. he looked and saw the other Underground Citizens rounding up the workers and killing any security guards and try to stop them. The Underground Prince smiled, and saw one of the Underground Citizen coming towards him.

 

Underground Citizen #3:

Sir, we have taken the facility!

 

Underground Prince:

Good, what about the Catskill facility?

 

Underground Citizen #3:

We just received word. It is also under our control.

 

Underground Prince:

Excellent, get everything ready for my address to New York!

 

Underground Citizen #3:

Yes, my prince.

 

     Meanwhile in homes, stores, building, water fountains and bathrooms, people are discover that the water pressure is getting weaker and starting to stop. Citizens across New York started to ask questions on what was going on. Then on a TV Matt Thomas was on screen.

 

Matt:

Water in New York is starting to get very low as all water utilities have started to show a decrease in pressure. As the problem grows worse, the public are demanding answers to what is going on and ~

 

     Just then Matt was cut off from screen and then the Underground Prince appeared. Everyone who was watching, saw the Underground Prince on the TV, but was silent.

 

Underground Prince:

Hello, I am the Underground Prince, son of the Underground King and the heir to New York once it is reclaim by it's true citizens.

 

     Underground Prince said, as he address who he was to the citizens of New York who were watching, many started to look worry of what the Underground Prince is going to say while others just waited and watched till he spoke his next words.

 

Underground Prince:

By now you are all wondering what is happening to the water across this City. Water is the source of all life, it is pure, but now it is being use by those who taint it the minute they take this gift, that comes from both the ground and the heavens. No more however we have save the water, The Underground Citizens and I have taken control of the Catskills/Delaware Facilities. We control the water now, and it will return when the "True" Citizens of New York walk in it's streets and the false ones have left... forever. That is our demand, leave this city, return it to us. You have 2 hours to comply, refuse and we destroy both facilities and this city will be without running water through it for years. 2 hours your have and not a minute more, best start packing. Hahahaha!

 

      Everyone watched as they saw the Underground Prince laughing after giving his threat in taking away the water forever, including the Mayor, Michael and Lydia, as well as Léonce Knight from his officer, who quickly got up and donned his Silver Knight armor and started flying in the sky.

 

     Back at the abandon theatre the Underground Prince was on screen and continued to laugh. DarkShadow heard his laugh, while still kneeling on the floor finishing up his work in polishing the Crimson Blood Sword. Once he was done he place the sword in it's sheath, then stood up put on his long black jacket, place the Crimson Blood Sword behind his back and lifted up his hood to be over his Mask. The DarkShadow then started to walk out of the theatre while still hearing the Underground Prince's laugh and goes through the doors.
