Marauder Season 2 Episode 2
Casey continues his investigation into the Atlantic Forest.
The Marauder has made his way into the deepest part of the forest. The vibe of the light energy artifact was getting stronger. All of the sudden, giant stone spears came out of the ground, causing Casey to stop in his tracks. A trap. He must be getting close. Using his dark energy, he disintegrated the stone spears.
Walking more aways forward, Casey encountered more traps but avoided every one of them. At last, he comes to a clearing where a warn down looking pyramid shaped temple. Thick vines were growing up the side and Casey deduced this temple had been around a long time. Upon the temple were many steps leading up to the top which looked empty. His heads up display detected a unique form of radiation from deep inside. He walked around the temple and noticed an impression in one of the walls. He lightly pushed it, and opened up to be a secret doorway leading underground.
"Well," he says activating lights to see, "Into the lion's den."
Casey ventures deep into underground South America. After a while, he comes to a network of complex caves. Using his heads up display, he creates a full 3D scan of the area and the central computer plots the best course to the source of the radiation. Casey follows the path.
Then, he finally reaches an area lit by torches among what looked like a carved out wall.
"Old school. Someone must've been here recently."
Casey follows the torches to the end of the tunnel and comes across a giant stone area, with an underground lake. Across the lake stood another carved stone supporting the light energy artifact, reflecting the light of the torches. This artifact was a small crystal pyramid and Casey could feel the vibrations in full. He takes one glance at the lake, then using his strength, leaps onto the wall of the cave, causing some dirt and rock to fall into the water. He then jumps to the side holding the artifact, his landing echoing throughout the cave. Casey then makes his way toward the artifact, but then is stopped as 3 shadowed creatures swoop overhead. They lamd infront of him and the artifact.
They looked like angels, only a more demonic interpretation. Their outfits were a pitch black with an interesting pattern. They also bore a metallic armor made out of an unknown black metal.
"What the hell are you?" Casey growls, trying to intimidate them.
"Foolish human." One of them hissed. "We are the Black Angels."
"I can see why." Casey eyed their appearance.
"Don't play games with us." Another one spoke. "You have made a serious mistake coming here and it will be your last."
Casey smirked, readying his dark energy.
"I'm not scared of you pricks. I've dealt with forces like yourselves before."
Before Casey could make a move, one of them ran at Casey in the blink of an eye, using their razor sharp claws to use two good sized scratches in his helmet, effecting his heads up display.
"Ok now they're really pissing me off."
Casey begins firing his dark energy at he beings, but they ended up dogdging it effortlessly. They then formed in a triangular formation and charged at Casey, slamming him with powerful force. He had formed a shield just in time to limit the blow's force. Casey went flying back into a wall, leaving an imprint in the dirt.
"This human is in possesion of one of the dark energy artifacts! I can feel our powers weakening. We must retreat."
All of the sudden, the beings were engulfed in light and vanished along with the light energy artifact. The vibrations depleted and Casey couldn't feel them anymore.
The Marauder got up and looked around the cave. Nothing was left behind by the Black Angels. Whoever they were, they weren't a force to be reckoned with. Casey had also discoveres there were perfectly drilled out holes throughout the cave and it became clear they were mining. But what? It was time for the Marauder to return to Vegas and warn Kelsy and Oz of this impending threat.
